Welcome to Actor Headshots NYC! 

My name is Marcella Riley and I specialize in headshots for actors in the New York area. 

I trained at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.

Since then I have worked for agencies such as United Talent and APA Talent & Literary. 

Because of my background, I know what talent agents and casting directors want to see in an actor's headshot.

In short, talent agencies and casting directors want to see the true you.

The purpose of a headshot is to get you into an audition room. 

The last thing you want is to falsely advertise yourself. Not only are you wasting the casting director's time, but you are also wasting your time.

If you are passionate about furthering your career, it is important to be yourself. 

However, in order to be yourself, you must first know yourself. 

While taking your headshots, it is your job, along with mine, to communicate who you are through the camera and to the casting director.

To achieve this, it is extremely important to know your "type". What brand of yourself are you trying to sell? We are all unique and it is essential that you know what your uniqueness is.

For example, are you like a turtle, at home wherever you go? Or are you always hoping for the best, expecting the worst, and praying for a miracle? Probably not, since those are some of the things that are unique about me!

Whatever that "thing" is that sets you apart from the people around you, you must be aware of it.

These are a few of the things I like to discuss with all the actors and actresses that I photograph.
